The Cost of Precision Fabrication

Tempered glass is a highly custom product. The final price depends entirely on how much machine time is required before the glass goes into the tempering furnace.

1

Glass Thickness

The price scales dramatically with thickness because the tempering process requires significantly more time inside the industrial furnace to properly heat treat a 12mm slab compared to a thin 6mm pane.

2

Pre-Tempering Customization

Because tempered glass absolutely cannot be cut or drilled after it is baked, all customization must happen while the glass is still raw. This requires precise planning and CNC machine time for cutouts and holes.

3

Edge Polishing

A standard machine-cut raw edge is cheapest, but if your glass has exposed edges (like a table top or frameless door), it requires flat grinding, beveling, or pencil polishing, which is added per linear foot.

4

Tints and Treatments

Standard clear glass is the base price. Upgrading to ultra-clear low-iron glass, bronze/grey tints, or adding frosted privacy films increases the cost per square foot.

Key Features

How Tempered Glass Is Priced

Thickness, size, edge treatment, and quantity all affect the final per-panel cost.

Thickness Is the Primary Factor

6mm, 8mm, 10mm, 12mm, and 15mm all have different raw material costs. Each step up in thickness roughly adds 25 to 40 percent to the glass cost alone, before cutting, tempering, and edge finishing.

Panel Size and Shape

Larger panels require more raw glass and carry higher breakage risk during tempering and transport. Non-rectangular shapes (L-cuts, notches, radius corners) require CNC cutting time before tempering.

Edge Treatment

Machine-cut raw edge is cheapest. Flat-ground edge removes sharpness. Polished edge adds visual refinement for tabletops, railings, and exposed edges. Beveled edge is a premium finish for decorative applications.

Glass Type

Standard clear tempered is the base. Low-iron ultra-clear costs more. Tinted (grey, bronze, green), reflective, frosted, and patterned glass all have premium over standard clear.

Holes, Notches, and Cutouts

All holes, notches, and cutouts must be made before tempering and cannot be modified after. Each additional cutout adds to the fabrication cost. Complex shapes with many cutouts cost significantly more than simple rectangles.

Supply Only or Supply and Install

We can supply tempered glass panels only (for your own installer or frame) or supply and install the complete system. Installed prices include frame, hardware, and sealant. Supply-only quotes cover glass and edge treatment only.

Frequently Asked Questions

Common questions about tempered glass pricing in the Philippines.

What is the price of 10mm tempered glass per square meter in the Philippines?

Standard 10mm clear tempered glass with flat-ground edges typically ranges from P2,800 to P4,200 per square meter, depending on panel size, shape complexity, and quantity. Ultra-clear low-iron 10mm glass costs P4,500 to P6,500 per sqm. Polished edges, holes, and notches are priced separately per piece.

Why does tempered glass take several days to fabricate?

Glass must be cut and edge-processed (notches, holes, grinds) before tempering. Once the glass enters the tempering furnace, it cannot be modified. After tempering, the glass is inspected, labeled, and prepared for delivery. The entire process from order confirmation to delivery typically takes 3 to 7 business days for standard sizes and up to 14 days for large or complex panels.

Can you match the thickness and tint of my existing tempered glass?

In most cases, yes. We need the thickness (check the edge stamp), glass color (clear, light blue-green, grey, bronze, or ultra-clear), and edge finish type. Bring a sample or detailed photos if you are unsure of the tint. Matching existing tempered glass is one of our most common replacement jobs.

What is the minimum order size?

We accept single-panel orders for residential replacement jobs with no minimum quantity. However, for custom shapes or non-standard thicknesses (such as 15mm or 19mm), we may require a minimum order of 2 to 4 panels to justify the tempering run. We will advise on this during quotation.
