The Engineering Behind the Aesthetics

01 / CNC CUTTING

CNC Precision Cutting

All cutting, hole drilling, and edge polishing must be done while the glass is in its annealed state. We use CNC machinery for exact dimensional accuracy based on site laser measurements.

02 / HEATING

Thermal Heating

The finished glass panel is passed through a tempering furnace where it is heated to over 600 degrees Celsius, bringing it to a semi-molten state.

03 / QUENCHING

Rapid Quenching

High-pressure jets of cold air rapidly cool the surfaces of the glass. The outer surfaces cool and contract faster than the center, putting the exterior in compression and interior in tension.

04 / CERTIFICATION

Safety Certification

This internal stress profile is what gives tempered glass its strength and safe breakage pattern. Each panel is then permanently etched with a safety certification stamp.

4x Stronger. Infinitely Safer.

Why certified tempered glass is mandatory for all Philippine safety glazing applications.

01

4 to 5x Stronger Than Standard

The thermal tempering process creates internal compression stress making the glass dramatically stronger against bending and impact loads.

02

Safety Breakage Pattern

When tempered glass breaks, it shatters into thousands of small rounded granules, not the large sharp shards of annealed glass that cause severe lacerations.

03

Required by Building Code

Tempered safety glass is mandatory for shower enclosures, glass doors, glass railings, and any application where breakage could cause injury.

04

Heat Resistant

Tempered glass withstands temperature differentials up to 250 degrees C, suitable for kitchen backsplashes, fireplace surrounds, and high-temperature environments.

05

Multiple Thicknesses

6mm, 8mm, 10mm, 12mm, and 15mm, each suited for different structural applications from decorative panels to structural railings and large-span curtain walls.

06

Certified and Stamped

All our tempered glass is supplied with the certification stamp etched into one corner, verifiable proof of safety compliance for building inspection and insurance.

Frequently Asked Questions

Common questions about tempered glass safety and specifications in the Philippines.

What is the difference between tempered and annealed glass?

+

Annealed glass is standard glass that cooled slowly and breaks into large sharp shards. Tempered glass is heated to over 600 degrees C then rapidly cooled, creating internal compression stress. It is 4 to 5x stronger and when it breaks, shatters into small blunt granules instead of dangerous shards.

How can I tell if glass is tempered?

+

Look for an etched or printed tempering stamp in one corner. The stamp shows the manufacturer name, glass thickness, and a safety standard designation such as ANSI Z97.1, BS 6206, or AS/NZS 2208. If there is no stamp, the glass may not be genuine tempered glass.

Can tempered glass be cut or drilled after tempering?

+

No. Once glass has been tempered, it cannot be cut, drilled, or edge-processed as any attempt will cause it to shatter completely. All holes, notches, and edge work must be done before the tempering process.

What thickness of tempered glass should I use?

+

6mm for fixed decorative panels and small windows. 8mm for medium sliding windows. 10mm minimum for frameless shower doors and glass doors. 12mm required for glass railings and structural balustrades. 15mm for very large panels and commercial curtain wall applications.
